I love Mexican food, but it isn’t always the healthiest or the most budget friendly, so I created a black bean and cheese burrito recipe that is easy and healthier than using refried beans. Each burrito only costs around $0.40 to make.
Black Bean and Cheese Burritos

Ingredients
- 1 Can Black Beans
- 1 Small Can Green Chiles
- 1 Garlic Clove, minced
- Low-Fat Shredded Cheese
- 8 Tortillas
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 35 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Drain the can of black beans.
- Combine black beans, green chiles, and garlic in a bowl.
- Mix the beans, chiles, and garlic together.
- Spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
- Place a tortilla on the pan.
- Add about two spoonfuls of black bean mixture and sprinkle cheese on top.
- Roll the burrito up.
- Continue until you have 8 burritos on the pan.
- Bake the burritos 10 to 15 minutes.
