Bean and Bacon Soup

Bean and Bacon SoupMy husband just loves bacon, I really only want it with breakfast and not added to any foods, but I decided to make something both of us would like. My choice was bean and bacon soup. I love beans and their health benefits and know bacon is added to many bean dishes, so this would make a good combination.

A quick and simple soup.
Ingredients
  • 2 slices of Applewood Smoked Bacon, diced and fried.
  • ½ white onion chopped and cooked with the bacon.
  • 1 can butter beans, drained
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 box 100% Natural Chicken Broth
  • ½ tsp. oregano
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. pepper
Instructions
  1. Cook the bacon and onions.
  2. Toss all ingredients together and heat in a pot.
  3. Enjoy!
  4. -If you don't like the texture of bacon in soup, don't cut the bacon up so you can remove it easily when the soup is done cooking. This will still give you the desired taste.
